How to Run Multiple Etsy Shops (2026)

Yes, you can run multiple Etsy shops from the same IP, the same computer and the same bank account. Etsy's own help center says "You're welcome to run multiple shops at once on Etsy". You don't need a proxy, a separate device or a separate internet connection for it.

What Etsy does require is one account and one email per shop, the same taxpayer ID on every shop, and a list of all your shops on each shop's public profile. That last rule is the whole story: Etsy expects to know your shops share an owner, so trying to hide the link with separate IPs isn't just pointless, it's the opposite of what the rules ask. Shops get suspended for what they sell and how they behave, not for sharing a Wi-Fi network.

What Etsy allows

Can you have multiple Etsy shops?

Yes. Etsy's article on opening a second shop says so in its first line, and walks you through it. There's no fee or approval step for a second shop beyond what any new shop goes through.

How many Etsy shops can one person have?

Etsy's help page doesn't give a maximum, so we won't make one up. It sets the rules per shop instead: each one needs its own account and email, and each must follow the Seller Policy on its own.

Can you have two Etsy shops on one account?

No. Etsy says "each Etsy account can only have one shop and one email address at a time." A second shop means a second account. If what you want is to sell two kinds of product, Etsy suggests shop sections inside one shop as the alternative, and that's often the better call.

Can I have multiple Etsy shops under one email?

No. When you register the second account, Etsy asks for "an email address not associated with another Etsy shop." You can change the email on an old account to free its address up, but two live shops never share one.

Can two Etsy shops use the same bank account?

Yes. Etsy says you can use the same credit card for seller registration and the same bank account for Etsy Payments. Sellers on Reddit and Quora worry about this more than anything else, and it's the one thing Etsy answers in plain words: it's allowed.

Do multiple shops need different taxpayer IDs?

The opposite. Etsy says "You must use the same taxpayer ID and address when applicable." Your shops are meant to be tied to you, the taxpayer, on Etsy's side. A seller who gives each shop a different identity to keep them apart is breaking this rule, not following it.

You have to list every shop you run

This is the rule most guides skip. Etsy's help page says "If you choose to run multiple shops on Etsy, you must list all the shops you run in the Public Profile section of each account." Your shops aren't supposed to be secret from Etsy or from buyers. If a guide's whole pitch is keeping Etsy from noticing your shops are connected, it's selling you a way to break this rule.

What Etsy forbids, in its own words

The Seller Policy doesn't limit owning several shops. It limits what you do with them:

RuleEtsy's wordsWhat it means for multiple shops
Duplicate shopsNot "create duplicate shops" for "shilling, manipulating search or circumventing Etsy's policies"A second shop selling the same listings to take more search slots, or to get round a suspension, breaks the rule
ManipulationNo "manipulating clicks, carts or sales"Your shops buying from, favouriting or reviewing each other is the textbook case
Price coordinationNot "coordinate pricing with other sellers"Applies between your own shops and other people's
Off-platform salesNot "facilitate off-platform transactions"Sending Etsy buyers to finish the sale elsewhere breaks it, from any shop
Disclosure"you must list all the shops you run"Every shop's profile names the others
Taxpayer details"the same taxpayer ID and address"All your shops are tied to one taxpayer

How to open a second Etsy shop

These are Etsy's own steps, from its help center. The whole thing takes a few minutes on the computer and connection you already use.

  1. On Etsy.com, choose Your account.
  2. Select Sign out.
  3. Select Sign in, then choose Register.
  4. Enter an email address that isn't on another Etsy shop, your name and a password, then select Register.
  5. Follow the steps to open your shop.
  6. Add the new shop to the Public Profile of every account you run, and add the others to the new one.

How to start a new Etsy shop if you already have one

Exactly the steps above: sign out, register a new account with a new email, open a shop on it. Your first shop isn't affected, and you don't have to close or pause it.

Should you open a second shop or use shop sections?

Etsy's own advice is that a second shop "may be useful" when a new product line is very different from your existing brand, and that shop sections can organise different products inside one shop. What we'd do: one shop with sections until the second line has its own audience, its own branding and enough listings to stand alone. A second shop starts from zero reviews and zero sales history, which is a real cost on Etsy.

Can you merge or move things between Etsy shops?

No. Etsy says it doesn't have a way to move shop info from one account to another or combine shops on one account. Listings, reviews and sales history stay where they were made. Splitting is easy; joining back isn't possible.

Switching between Etsy shops

Can you be signed in to two Etsy shops at once?

Not in one browser. Etsy says "Most browsers won't allow you to be signed in to multiple Etsy accounts at one time" and suggests a different browser for each account, so you don't have to keep signing out and back in.

Can I use the same computer for both shops?

Yes. Nothing in Etsy's help or Seller Policy says each shop needs its own device. The browser tip above is about convenience, not about hiding anything.

Browser profiles instead of separate browsers

Chrome, Edge and Firefox all let you make separate profiles, each with its own cookies. One profile per shop does the same job as one browser per shop and keeps your bookmarks and extensions apart too. You don't need an antidetect browser for this; that's a tool for hiding links, and Etsy's rules want the links visible.

Using the Etsy Seller app with several shops

Each shop is its own account, so on a phone you're signed in to one at a time. Keep track of which email goes with which shop; Etsy's own help page says that if you can't find your order or sales history, you might be signed in to the wrong account.

Multiple shops on the same IP

Is it safe to run multiple Etsy shops on one IP?

Etsy allows it, and its help center describes the setup on one computer without mentioning IPs at all. Every website sees the address you connect from, so Etsy can see your shops share one, and that's fine: it already knows they're yours, because you listed them and gave it one taxpayer ID.

Multiple shop owners in the same house

This is the version of the question that comes up most on r/Etsy: two people, two separate businesses, one home internet connection. Etsy's disclosure rule is about the shops *you* run, and the r/Etsy thread on it makes the same point: you list your own shops, not every shop on your Wi-Fi. Households, shared studios and coworking spaces share an IP all the time. Our view: keep separate accounts, separate emails and separate payment details, and don't let the shops interact, and a shared connection isn't a problem you need to solve.

If one shop gets suspended, does the other go too?

Etsy doesn't publish how it treats an owner's other shops after a suspension, and we won't guess at its process. What we can say is that your shops are tied together on purpose, by your taxpayer ID and your profile disclosure, so no network setup separates them. The way to protect shop two is to keep shop one inside the Seller Policy.

Etsy suspended my shop. Can I open a new one?

Not to get round the suspension. The Seller Policy bans creating duplicate shops for "circumventing Etsy's policies", and a fresh shop opened because the old one was suspended is what that sentence describes. Appeal through Etsy instead. We won't help with this one on any network, and a proxy wouldn't change the taxpayer ID that ties the new shop back to you anyway.

Etsy doesn't publish how it connects accounts, and nobody outside Etsy knows how it weighs each signal. Here's what Etsy can plainly see when you run more than one shop, and which of those a proxy changes. On Etsy, most of the links are ones the rules make you create.

Your taxpayer ID and address

Required to match across your shops, so they're linked by design. No proxy touches this.

Your public profile

Each shop's profile has to list the others. Buyers can see the link, not just Etsy.

Bank account and card

Allowed to be the same, and Etsy says so. Shared payment details put one owner behind several shops, which is fine because that's the truth.

Browser, cookies and device

Shops used from one computer share a device and a browser fingerprint. Etsy's help describes that setup without objection.

The IP address

Shops used from one home or office share it. A proxy changes this signal and only this one, which on Etsy is the least important link on the list.

Listings and behaviour

Two shops with the same photos, titles and products look like duplicate shops, whatever else they share. And shops that buy from, favourite or review each other are doing what the Seller Policy calls manipulation. This is the signal that gets shops in trouble, and it's entirely in your hands.

Do you need a proxy for multiple Etsy shops?

No, in almost every case. Here's how we'd decide.

Two or three shops of your own: no

Etsy allows it from one computer and connection, and it requires you to tie the shops together. A separate IP per shop hides nothing Etsy doesn't already know.

Housemates with their own businesses: no

A shared home connection is normal. Keep the accounts, emails and payment details separate and the shops apart.

A virtual assistant working on several clients' shops: usually no

Etsy hasn't published a rule against one person signing in to several clients' shops from one place, and we didn't find one. Use one browser profile per client so sessions don't mix, and keep every client's login details with the client. If a client wants their shop accessed only from a fixed address, that's their call, and a dedicated line is one way to give it.

Duplicate shops, review swaps or a way back after a suspension: no, and nothing here helps

The Seller Policy bans all three. A new IP doesn't make any of them allowed, and the taxpayer ID links the shops whatever network they're on. We won't sell a line for it.

What GoLogin and Multilogin tutorials leave out

A few page-one results for this search are antidetect-browser tutorials that give each shop its own fingerprint and IP. They're built on the premise that Etsy mustn't know your shops are connected. Etsy's own rules say the opposite: list them, and use one taxpayer ID. On this platform, the setup they sell solves a problem Etsy's rules don't let you have.

Running several shops well, step by step

This is our recommended setup. Only the email, taxpayer and disclosure points are Etsy requirements; the rest is what keeps several shops easy to run.

Step 1: decide whether it should be a second shop at all

A different product line with its own brand and buyers is a reason. More search slots for the same products isn't, and it's what the duplicate-shops rule bans.

Step 2: one email per shop, one you'll keep

Use a real address you control, not a throwaway. It's how you recover the account and how Etsy reaches you about orders and policy notices.

Step 3: the same taxpayer details on every shop

Etsy requires it where it applies. Mismatched tax details create problems later that no amount of tidy setup fixes.

Step 4: list every shop on every profile

Do it the day the new shop opens, on the new shop and on each existing one. It's the rule sellers forget most often.

Step 5: one browser profile per shop

So you can stay signed in to each and never post a listing to the wrong shop.

Step 6: original listings for each shop

Own photos, titles and descriptions per shop. Copying a listing from shop one to shop two is how a second brand turns into a duplicate shop.

Step 7: keep the shops out of each other's business

No buying from your own other shop, no favourites or reviews between them, no matching prices across them. Each shop should only do its own selling.

A first month for a second shop

Etsy doesn't publish a warm-up period for new shops, so this is our recommendation. The aim is a shop that looks like what it is: a new brand from an existing seller, not a copy of the first shop.

WeeksWhat to doAvoid

The rules Etsy publishes

Here's what Etsy itself has put in writing. Anything not in this table, like shops per person or shops per IP, isn't published, and a blog quoting you a number for it is guessing.

Mistakes that get Etsy shops in trouble

Opening a shop to replace a suspended one

"Circumventing Etsy's policies" is the Seller Policy's wording. Appeal the suspension instead.

The same listings in two shops

A second storefront with your first shop's products is the duplicate shop the policy names, built to take more search results.

Not listing your other shops

It's a stated requirement, and it's free to meet. Skipping it is the easiest rule to break by accident.

Different taxpayer details per shop

Etsy wants the same taxpayer ID and address where they apply. Giving each shop its own identity to keep them apart breaks the rule you were trying to dodge.

Shops reviewing or buying from each other

Manipulating carts and sales is named in the policy. Self-purchases and swapped reviews between your own shops are the obvious version.

Matching prices across shops

The rule against coordinating pricing doesn't carve out your own shops. Price each one on its own terms.

Paying for a setup built to hide the link

Antidetect browsers and a proxy per shop cost money every month and hide a connection Etsy's rules require you to show. It's the wrong problem to spend on.

Which IP type, if you use one at all

Etsy publishes no rule about IPs, and the views below are our advice, not its rules. For the general reasoning behind accounts and IPs, see how many accounts per mobile proxy.

ConnectionWhat it looks likeOur view for Etsy
Your home or office lineAn ordinary subscriberRight for all your own shops
Dedicated mobile lineA phone on a US carrier, shared with ordinary subscribers through CGNATOnly for a client who wants their shop reached from a fixed address
Residential poolSomeone's home address, rotated between customersNo reason to use it for selling
Datacenter or VPNA hosting company's addressShared with strangers; nothing to gain for a seller
Free proxy listsA stranger's serverNever for an account that holds your bank details

Does Etsy block VPNs?

Etsy's Seller Policy doesn't ban them. A shared VPN or datacenter address can carry other people's history, which is IP reputation, and you can't see what that history is. For a seller, there's no upside that makes that worth it.

How many Etsy shops per IP would we run?

Our recommendation: all of your own shops on your normal connection. Mobile carriers already put many subscribers behind each address through CGNAT, and homes and offices share one address between everyone in them, so several shops on one IP is ordinary. The number that matters is shops per owner, and Etsy wants that one disclosed, not hidden.

Where White Cloak fits

We sell dedicated US mobile proxies, so weigh this accordingly: you almost certainly don't need one for Etsy. Multiple shops on one connection are allowed, Etsy requires the shops to be tied to you, and a proxy can't untie a taxpayer ID. Where our product does earn its place is marketplaces with different rules, like Craigslist, where posting location matters, and why your Craigslist post isn't showing up explains that one. For social accounts run by an agency, see mobile proxies for social media agencies, and you can test a line on the free trial.

Need a dedicated US carrier IP for work Etsy doesn't cover? HTTP and SOCKS5 credentials are issued instantly.

Frequently asked questions

Can you have multiple Etsy shops?

Yes. Etsy's help center says you're welcome to run multiple shops at once. Each shop needs its own Etsy account and its own email address, and you must list all your shops in the Public Profile of each account.

Can I run multiple Etsy shops on the same IP address?

Yes. Etsy describes running several shops from one computer and doesn't set any rule about IP addresses. Its rules are about one email per shop, the same taxpayer ID, disclosure, and not creating duplicate shops to manipulate search.

Can you have two Etsy shops on one account?

No. Etsy says each account can only have one shop and one email address at a time. A second shop needs a second account.

Can I have multiple Etsy shops under one email?

No. The second account needs an email address that isn't associated with another Etsy shop. You can change the email on an old account to free the address up.

Can you have two Etsy shops on one bank account?

Yes. Etsy allows the same credit card for seller registration and the same bank account for Etsy Payments across your shops.

Do I need a different taxpayer ID for each Etsy shop?

No. Etsy says you must use the same taxpayer ID and address on your shops when applicable.

How do I start a new Etsy shop if I already have one?

Sign out, choose Register, create a new account with an email that isn't on another Etsy shop, and follow the steps to open your shop. Then list the new shop on each of your shop profiles.

Can two people in the same house have Etsy shops?

Yes. Etsy's disclosure rule covers the shops you run, not everyone on your internet connection. Keep separate accounts, emails and payment details, and keep the shops from interacting.

Can I open a new Etsy shop if my shop was suspended?

Not to get round the suspension. Etsy's Seller Policy bans creating duplicate shops to circumvent its policies. Appeal the suspension through Etsy instead.

Can you merge two Etsy shops?

No. Etsy says there's no way to move shop info from one account to another or combine shops on one account.

Can I be logged in to two Etsy shops at once?

Not in one browser. Etsy suggests a different browser for each account; separate browser profiles do the same job.

Do I need a proxy for multiple Etsy shops?

No. Etsy allows several shops on one connection and requires them to be tied to you through your taxpayer ID and profile disclosure, so a separate IP per shop doesn't separate anything.
